The president of the Senate, the liberal Ilie Bolojan, declared on Monday that the Government proposed for the investiture is „a necessity for Romania”, noting that „this is no longer a question of likes or dislikes or animosities related to the recent past, this is about responsibility for the country”.
„The Government that we propose to invest today is a necessity for Romania, because we need stability, considering the political crisis we are in. We need the control of budget deficits and state finances in such a way that we take measures so that things do not get out of control. But this is not enough. This Government has several important missions: to maintain Romania’s European and Euro-Atlantic course and to restores citizens’ trust in the state and in the political class”, Bolojan told the joint plenary session of the Parliament for the investiture of the future Government.
He added that the parliamentary majority and the Government have „ambitious objectives” to implement, such as: reducing unnecessary public spending, decentralization, restoring Romanian industry, supporting domestic production, especially agricultural production, continuing large investment projects and accessing funds European to ensure the growth of the national economy, Agerpres informs.
„These are the reasons why the National Liberal Party decided to support this coalition and vote today for the investiture of the current Government. This is no longer a question of likes or dislikes or animosities that hold on to the recent past, this is a question of responsibility for Romania and for the future of our country”, added Ilie Bolojan.
The liberal also said that he understood the message that the Romanians gave in the last few elections.
„That’s why, I think it’s the place in the political debates to give up attacks, sterile things and support healthy measures for Romania, and an important challenge is the reform of the state. I also said that we need a good public administration, which be put at the service of citizens and the business milieu. We also need investments in education, which will make us more competitive as a country, we must modernize, make the health system more efficient because our wellbeing depends on the health of our nation. We are obliged to invest in defense to be able to defend ourselves. Last but not least, an extremely important challenge is to keep Romania in the free world family. Our presence in the European Union and in NATO is normal, but not enough. It also depends on us how we can capitalize on the benefits of belonging to these spaces, better representing Romania, supporting professionalism in politics, creating conditions for development in our country,” Bolojan said.
