The new Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, Ciprian Serban, said on Monday that he will be a partner of all parliamentarians regardless of the party they belong to.
„I thank you for your trust and I want to assure you that you will find a partner in me, regardless of the party you belong to,” said Serban, after being elected speaker of the lower house.
Social Democrat Ciprian Serban was elected speaker of the Chamber of Deputies on Monday, with 195 votes „in favour” and 86 „against”.
His counter-candidate, Dumitru Coarna (SOS Romania), garnered 86 votes”in favour” and 195 „against”.
