Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu said on Tuesday that Romania cannot have a future alongside Russia, and that opinions such as the one formulated on an account associated with an ideologue of Vladimir Putin, according to which Romania will be a part of Russia, „must show us all why the Putin regime is a threat to democracy”, announce agerpres.ro.
„Romania cannot have a future alongside Russia! Opinions such as the one formulated on an account associated with an ideologue of Vladimir Putin, that Romania will be a part of Russia, should show us all why the Putin regime is a threat to democracy,” Ciolacu wrote on Facebook.
He added that Romanians have shown by their vote that they want a continuation of the development path with European money, but – at the same time – they are asking political leaders „to act with more determination to defend traditional values, our national identity and the faith of this nation”.
„I have understood the message of the people and I will act as such, regardless of the area from which the attacks against Romanians will come,” Ciolacu concluded.
